2019 Lady Hill Chardonnay

This vintage represents a turn from our classic Chardonnay, and the opportunity to work with the McDuffee Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge AVA. Located on a hillside near The Dalles is one of the oldest Chardonnay plantings in the area. Warm, sun-baked days, balanced by cool, breezy nights, produced this rich wine supported with juicy acidity. The quality of fruit harvested late in September was impeccable. Gently pressed into a steel tank, inoculated with yeast to enhance freshness and mouthfeel, the wine was racked into new and neutral French oak and Acacia wood. Full malolactic transformation produced a weightier, finished wine. Fermented juice remained on clean lees further enhancing aromatics and texture. 

PROFILE: Vivid shades of daffodil to blond. Tropical fruit and apricot aromatics, hints of almond and lemon curd. Balanced texture and mouthfeel; streaks of minerality and refreshing finish. 100% McDuffee Vineyard, Columbia Gorge AVA.
