We memorialize Elfrieda Meyer, grandmother to Jerry Owen, with this wine. Elfrieda and Henry fell in love working together in the hop fields of Champoeg. Photographs and letters about life on the farm convey her strength and determination. Though gone for decades, her presence is still felt on the land, in the house and hearts of her many descendants. Resolve and kindness to the palate are demonstrated in this beautiful Bordeaux blend. 5 different clones of Cabernet combined with an early planted Merlot; a west facing block of Cab Franc – vines sit above the Missoula Flood Plain, taking life and personality from ancient volcanic soils. Aged in combinations of oak, this is the winemaker’s selection of the best Bordeaux barrels from Red Willow Vineyard.
