A cold, wet winter led to a later than average bud break. Summer warmth set harvest back on schedule. Early Fall rains and a September cool down stalled sugar, allowing flavors to develop and acidity to remain high, ideal conditions for this varietal.
Unfined and unfiltered, hues on rim vacillate from sangria to mulberry, with opaque, unadulterated coloration. Red and black fruit aromatics waft alongside sweet tobacco leaf and dried herbs. Cab Franc brings structure and elegance. A lean, dry entry through mid-palate, finishes with soft, satiny blanket. Will evolve over the next 10 years.
