Royal Ruby at its core and edging towards mahogany, Sangiovese has a tendency to quickly brown due to oxidation. Don’t let this stop you from aging this Tuscan style beauty as it typically needs a few years to open and show its potential. Aromas of black cherry, licorice rope and an alluring barrel spice opens into sweet rose petals and dusty thyme. The wine has a lush, weighted entry of sweetness followed by lifted, tart red fruits and refreshing orange peel. The tannins are fine and chalky, with a bright acidity that leads to a lingering pucker.
