2012 was one of the most epic vintages in modern Washington State wine history. An uptick in degree units from two previously "cool" vintages brought us back to a warming trend that allowed flavors to ripen fully without gathering astringent tannins.
PROFILE: 10 years along, this wine exhibits only slight oxidative hues around the rim still filled with a core of raisin and very dark purple. Gobs of blackberry liquor, pencil shavings and cedar twist curl the tongue to support a rich seductive mouthfeel balanced with those calling card Cabernet tannins.
